Basic concepts as an overall system.
First, only power “ON” any RV or Leisure Vehicle UltraHeat system or section of a system only after both of these two conditions have been met:
- Ambient outside temperature is approaching or below freezing conditions (32°F, 0°C), and will remain.
- Fluids are present throughout the system or section of a system you are powering on. Drain pipes are full, and there is fluid present with in the storage container, volume constant at minimum to cover the area of the panel’s mounting surface.
Power “Off” the UltraHeat system(s) once the ambient outside temperature rises above freezing and is predicted to remain above or once any segment (Gray, Black or Fresh) has been evacuated of fluids, that segment must be powered "Off".
As to the ambient outside temperature, this is why we developed and recommend the “Master Ambient Control System”; it takes out the need to monitor the temperature and manually power “on/off” the overall system.
Fluids present is why we always recommend separately controlling each section (Gray, Black or Fresh), independently with the availably to power “ON/Off” each as needed. Most all RVer’s will start out with a full Fresh Water Tank, and if they follow most all Manufacturers guidelines, all Gray and Black systems will be vacated prior to heading down the road. If the temperature dictates, only the Fresh Water Tank will need to be powered “ON”. And as the utilities are used, the other systems can be powered “on” once there is enough fluid present in each and powered “Off” again once vacated.
Some manufacturers installing UltraHeat heat panels have independently elected to control all systems (Gray, Black or Fresh) with just one switch. If this is the case, the only difference in operation is that when you must start out with a little fluid in all waste holding tanks as well as the fresh water, enough to cover the bottom of each tank with at least ¼” (6.35mm) of fluids. When you go to vacate your holding tanks you must power “Off” this one switch control prior to doing so. Once vacated, the RV’er must then refill all emptied tanks with some water or other fluids as stated prior. Once this is accomplished and temperature still dictates power “ON” the single switch again.
Note: Failure to follow these procedures can give cause in creating a scenario where permanent damage may result to the holding tank systems and/or their associated heat panels.
Important Notice: This product must be installed in minimum temperatures of 50°F (10°C), and has been designed and tested for use as a heating device for RV holding tank and drainage systems constructed of electrically non-conductive materials. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to insure that usage of this product is consistent with the original design and testing. Failure to follow and comply install instructions may void product warrantee and could result in damage to the product.
